Welsh teaching union UCAC has refused to sign an agreement with the government over pensions.
Following lengthy negotiations culminating yesterday, UCAC decided not to sign an agreement with the government. It has said it will have further talks with government in January.
General secretary Elaine Edwards said: “The talks have been constructive; but the latest proposals still don’t fully address the principal concerns of UCAC’s members. We cannot agree to this proposal without further discussion.
“We’re waiting for further details from the Government on certain aspects of the scheme. Our National Executive will be in a position to give the proposal serious consideration in January and we look forward to getting back to the negotiating table early in the new year.”
