Trade unionists have been invited to attend a conference on how to stop the the exploitation of Olympic workers.
Organised by War on Want and entitled Blood, Sweat & Gear – the human cost of the London Olympics, the event will address the question: will the legacy of the London Olympics be exploited garment workers and the marginalisation of local communities?
It takes place in London on March 24th with speakers from the TUC and the National Garments Workers Federation from Bangladesh. There will be workshops on building solidarity and better links with Bangladeshi garment workers, taking the fight to the sportswear companies and the impact of global sporting events on local communities.
